Everything I See

by Ash McDaniel

/
1.
I’m unable to forget Everything I see reminds me that the price of freedom is too costly and we don’t even know what it means We fight in wars and we die in poverty We oppress each other for a dream I just cannot pretend that I don’t see my world Ignoring the lies we’ve told and absorbed Removing ourselves from the obvious blame We carry on with our dangerous greed Bursting with pride over our technical feats J’S LYRICS What's the meaning, it's hard to get it. I guess I'm overly being idealistic thinking we got it wrong, or maybe missed it. In the field when the serpent paid us a visit since we lost vision seeing what we despise. In the mirror not witnessing God's image. I know the truth gon find us one day when we open our mind up, but to be honest… I just can’t understand What’s made us all so insane To presume we have the right to kill and defile the Earth with our waste We can’t keep on with bloody blindness with our constant thrust toward destruction

about

Ash McDaniel Tennessee

I started playing the guitar and writing songs at 15 and have been at it ever since, even though I've "traveled the breadth of extremities" (Joni Mitchell, Hejira) between then and now. Here I am, again.
